Down To the Sea

Down to the sea the people flee To beat the heat in their city Some come to swim; some don't go in Down to the sea the people flee To barbeque, play frisbee too Sand castles make, a long run take Down to the sea the people flee To beat the heat in their city

Enjoyed your verse Gershon … on the topic, on red hot days, the beach is last place I want to be. Sun burn; skin cancer; sharks looking for a snack - thank you Gershon - Lindsay

Thanks for the feedback, Lindsay. Much appreciated...and watch out for those sharks now. I hear they go for sun-burned males. LOL. Best wishes, gw

I feel like hitching a ride now... to the sea, where else! Lovely poem, Gershon.

Me, too... Although I think my hitchhiking days are long over. (A miracle I survived them, really, when I think back to what was going on in the late '60's!). Best wishes, Gershon

The sea is the only place anyone's heart feels peace that is why they flee, your words brought pictures to my mind but, not as good as the real ocean. lol

Hey, Bobby, just take a sea shell, put your ear up close to it, and you can hear ---Nah! That's not the real thing either. Thanks for commenting, and so great to hear from you!!!! Warm wishes, Gershon
