Watson and Crick
After eighteen months
Of scientific research
Discovered the chemical structure
Of dna,
The double helix
Ushering in a new
And exciting age
In the field of molecular biology,
Making possible the diagnosis
And treatment of certain genetic disorders
And hereditary diseases,
Giving rise to the forensic analysis
Of evidence
Identifying the perpetrator
From their own unique dna,
The double helix...
