Dot-To-Dot
Most kids like dot-to-dot a lot;
I guess I once did, too.
The problem is, the picture’s
Always obvious to view.
Before she’s gone from 1 to 2,
My granddaughter, who’s 5,
Announces, “ It’s a bird or girl,”
Not falling for their jive.
She still connects the numbers,
Since she’s learning them right now,
But there isn’t any mystery
In what the dots allow.
