dont kick the leaves

Don’t kick the leaves! Her mother said. Her father rolled his eyes in the back of his head. It’ll make your eyes crossed! Said her grandmother. Who was the weirdo who had raised her mother. I used to kick leaves all the time said her dad. Some of my leaf-kicking times were the best times I had. She tried to walk by a pile, but she could not get on by. Without giving the leaves a bit of a kick, for she had to try. The leaves went up into the air and giggled with glee. Now she was giddy, loving leaf-kicking as much as could be. She gave another kick, and then she jumped into the pile. Her daddy came outside and gave her a great big boy smile.
