Don't Face It

Kissed by the sun?
It's more like being slapped.
For the cancer causing rays
I keep my face well--wrapped.

Great advice, Pangie.. PS,,,the sun is not harmful all day, no wayand no how. It depends on many factors… Where you live is key, sites online explain when the sun is to be avoided where you live. I have no wrinkles, and am grateful. I will be 90 in four years, Hilda wowser!

Good advice, Hilda. I have never been able to tan well. And not for lack of trying in my younger days. The closest I ever came was a severe sunburn after spending the day at a mountain lake in Colorado. Not fun...

Sun is brutal. I mind it more now. Since childhood, I've been a winter person. Be careful, And please heed my advice.

You've certainly told truth to the fantasy of being 'kissed by the sun.'

I've been pretty harsh on the sun lately. I'll try to be more supportive. I hope you liked it.

And time for sunscreen, lol. And people still go to tanning beds...

I never went to a tanning bed. It seems like a waste of money. Nor have I had one of those terrible massages. Too much fiction.

Intense sun here in Texas. The Gulf storms have made it a little more bearable (though quite humid). :)

Texas always sounds hot from weather reports. I like seasons, including winter snow. It's nice to get the change ever three months

It's best to plant some shade trees. Not just cancer, but heat stroke and heat exhaustion takes its toll.

Thank you. As a kid, I'd walk miles in hot sun. It never bothered me. I use sunscreen and avoid the direct sun. Thank you for your comment.

Sometimes we feel that the sun sends out piercing needles. Two months back, we had such alarming rise in temperature that we couldn't get out as long as the sun seemed a flaming ball of fire.

I'm in a desert. There's no where to get relief except to travel to a forest. Trees are our friends.

I don't hate the sun. We need it, but we had an ozone layer back in the 60's. I've heard it is gone because of aerosols. Thanks for reading.

The skin changes in time. I've always hated goopy sunscreen, but I wear it for protection.

Yes it is. Sunscreen, though yucky, is a good idea.
