Domesticated

Lapping
The steaming cream
From her morning cup of joe
My wife
Is wrapped
In her rosy robe
Sitting in her favorite chair

Our black cat
Skinny and flattened
Creased in half
Across her lap
Like a static sock
Of mine
Lost from work

Tumbled
From the dryer.
