Dolce Far Niente

DOLCE FAR NIENTE A gentle idleness, so well deserved After the hurly-burly of a busy week Assuming control to just switch off Relax, and then raise a toast to sloth It’s a long way down from the peak This nothing time has been reserved A welcome void of silent emptiness Eyes closed, and all phones muted Time to reflect on what I’ve built Yet the prize is that I feel no guilt A well-earned rest may be disputed But to me it matters not, I confess
