Dogs and their Owners
You’ve heard it said a dog’s mug
often resembles his or her owner’s?
I for one have no reason to doubt it.
Why, just the other day while walking
my dog, I passed a lady of fine breeding
walking her poodle, its hair frizzed
and dyed to match her own. And how
forget the pudgy shuffling gentleman
whose jowls hung flaccid like those
of his overweight basset hound!
The match would have been complete
had the dog been puffing a cigar
and stopped to take a leak on the tire
of a parked car like his master often did.
