Doctor's Orders

We learn to take our medicine No matter what the taste And follow doctor's orders, Though uncomfortable, post haste. Yet children have to be convinced, For if the flavor's vile, They'll try their best to fight it Using obstinance and guile. Perhaps a bit of bribery Or trickiness might work, For medical instructions Aren't ones we ought to shirk. So we must do what we must do To get that dosage down, Despite the knowledge we're the cause Of grimace, grouse or frown.

I can relaye to this poem, Ilene. I'm on bitter pills for my diabetes. The worst of it is that the pills are mini footballs size and I can't swallow them unless I crush them. But it's for my own health, so I bear a grimace twice a day. Hope you health isn't as bad as mine. Best to you. / M

Too true! When my granddaughter received her first injection, she grabbed the needle out of the nurse's hand and tossed it across the room. But that pales in comparison to getting a cat to swallow a pill! Another great catch of the day! Aloha! Rico
