Dockside Encounter
She took him in completely
that first day of July
walking across a dockside
capturing his soul
harnessing all of the gentle love
of an Irish man
in the second it takes
for a dream to come true
futures were decided
as easy as the rain
falls from the sky
two hearts became one
once in a lifetime
a beautiful stranger beckons
and you answer
without challenge or fear
love arrives unannounced
and invites your soul to dance
on the side of a river
a day like so many others
except that everything you ever were
would be no more
a moment flows to you on a river
and carries your destiny within
