Do You Remember Me In Your Memories
He laid in bed almost asleep. I asked
him, " Dad do you remember me?"
" I was your daughter, your only child.
Just take your time dad, think for a while."
" Look at these pictures of you and me,
"Do they spark your memory?"
" These new pictures I'm showing you.
Is my sixteenth birthday party, that you
threw."
She held him close in disbelief, and
asked him over and over," Dad do you
remember me?"
She said, " Dad I'm hoping you can
recall, but his absent look is what she saw.
He said, " I'm sorry honey I wish I could."
Her heart just broke, as she understood.
So many years, just disappeared.
Leaving a loving daughter in heartfelt tears.
She prays for a cure to heal his mind.
Waiting, waiting for sometime.
Her dad doesn't know her anymore. So
she carries both the memories, of him and
her.
