Do You Remember

Do you remember the time, When you would believe what I said? Now we sit alone, While you are next to me. And I ask myself: What happened to the 'us' That has now become 'me' and 'you'? We were companions, Yet now we sit alone, While you are next to me. Do you remember when we would talk, Hours would go by without concern. Now we wear a watch And I ask myself: What happened to the seconds When we were ' just living '? We used to laugh the clock away, Now with solemn faces we look at our hands, While we sit across from eachother. Do you remember the miles we would walk? Now we sit isolated on a train With our shoes on our old feet And I ask myself : What happened to those miles, Were they pointless? We were walking towards our future, Without any idea we'd turn off on different paths. Do you remember ? Please just hold my hand once more And remember.
