Distracted

While getting off the bus, a woman Saw her cell phone fall. She leaned to pick it up, Perhaps to get or make a call. The driver pulled out from the curb But crushed her with his tire. He didn’t have a clue about What he’d caused to transpire. The woman’s dead, the driver free, A story sad but true, Distraction interfering with The rules we thought we knew.

I'm terribly sorry to hear this is based on fact. And yet in this craziness of the cell-phone world, I am not really as surprised or shocked as I should be. Which is sad, indeed. So so sad!
