Distant Rumblings
A distant rumbling
slowly turns unwary heads,
anticipation’s curtsy
awaiting stillness.
Homage before the deluge.
The delicate staccato,
of clouded future,
cold touch, a victor’s mercy,
counting coup on flower beds.
