Distanced

on the edges
of every dream
you stood

my salvation
from pain
wiping free
my lonely tears

your lambency shined
like a beacon
guiding me
through darkness

your wings
comforted,
shielded me

a kiss
blown
on wishes
adrift
in the winds
that held you
closer

i taste you
on my lips
as you part
through my tears

on the edges
of dreams
you stand
distanced

i reach for you
as my hands slip
through air

this blade
pierces my heart
through the fog
lifting me
into my salvation
from pain

12 funerals in one year? I've been to quite a few, but most are in their 80's or 90's, although one was 48, the other 61. It does take it's toll on ones emotions, but you are handling it well

Superbly worded to convey the core of your message: i taste you on my lips as you part through my tears....on the edges of dreams you stand distanced. The ending aptly so very sad, Sandy.
