Diminished Blues

Gray clouds clot, choking a waning sun;
dissolving shadows, that the day won.
As the coming storm evokes despair
birds fall silent; in the somber air.
Gaia showers where wet skies are bled,
while mournful trees gather tears to shed.
In a shroud of mist, deprived of light,
Nature's flowers keep their petals tight.
And the sky's bruised with darkening hues
swathes of purple on diminished blues.
And a cold chill commandeers each breeze,
making trees shiver, with trembling leaves.
As Lightning flashes its jagged eye,
Thunder responds with a mighty cry!
