Digital Technology

In my youth
I disassembled
my father’s alarm clock.
Spent the day spinning
the many different “tops”
(also known as gears)
I found inside.
He was not happy.
I was much more unhappy.

I learned that
things work better
If I leave them alone.

I have since
worked on skyscrapers
and bridges
and still maintain
full control over my digits.

Every day I explore
the complexity of such
extraordinary
digital technology.

My nephew does this in Manhattan, responsible for the upkeep of several tall buildings -- great responsibility, with fascinating complexity. I think some of the reasons we like puzzles, dissecting things is, we are always wondering of our own true nature. "Spent the day spinning the many different “tops” (also known as gears)" Certain a few of my gears are lost in the carpeting. You get a Fav! for this one. Joe.

Great! I can see the child in you tinkering with your dad’s clock!
