You've expressed a trait of your dad's that I think was shared by many others of his generation, including mine, which was that they just couldn't say 'I love you.' That sure has changed now, hasn't it?!

I agree with you, Gershon. Our father's generation spoke little but said a lot with their actions and facial expressions. I always knew deep in my heart that he loved me. Yes, dad's today are more expressive, almost to a fault--if that makes sense :-) Have a pleasant Sunday, Sara

This is beautiful. Looks like we were about the same age in girl scout days. Except no, I became a brownie around '66! A great dad you had.

awww, thanks, Andrea. I was a Brownie Scout three years before you...we're pretty close in age. You're right. I had a great dad. He never liked wearing a suit and tie. Yet he did on this occasion which was the father-daughter banquet. Wishing you a wonderful evening, hugs, Sara

- "silent love endures" ... my father never talked about love - he never said he was proud of us children ... I think it was silent love ... great written, Sara :) - hugs

thanks for stopping by, Anne-Lise, and for sharing a bit about your own father-daughter relationship. My friends had a similar experience as you did. Their father's weren't verbal in their expressions of love and pride. I was fortunate. Thanks for your kind words; have a pleasant evening, hugs, Sara

You're right, Ink. I was missing my dad a great deal today, probably because today is his birthday. Were he still alive he'd be 102. His love and guidance are with me every day. Have a lovely evening, hugs, Sara
