Designed For More
Time substitutes childhood dreams
with towers of steel and glass.
But technology breeds greed,
and no one gets a free pass.
Hunger stalks reality,
armed with the pain that it brings.
And edging insanity,
puppets get tangled in strings.
Within high society,
roadside beggars don't exist.
And discretely kept from sight,
they’re fed barely enough to subsist.
The homeless annoy the rich,
schooled in the art of deceit.
For they cannot understand
why people would choose the street.
Wealthy folks, nestled at home,
have no concern for the poor.
And yet, the tragedy is,
Man's heart was designed for more.
