A charming depiction of a traditional event in Keswick, the Lake District.

Santa Splash! And around they go. 'Round the islands and back, they row! Surrounded by December hues, reds and yellows, and brilliant blues. Causey rises in purple glow waiting the cold coming of snow. Elves and Santas all do agree that this event is full of glee. What a sight as they race along amid the cheers of rousing throng. Good humoured fun with prize to win, Oh what a great day this has been!

Thank you Tom. The event sounds fun and as I was researching the event, I found beautiful pictures of the area. The artist is from that area. She has a lovely cottage she rents out in Keswick. I'd love to visit. :)

Hi Sara. I am thankful you take time to visit, even with preparing for Christmas, baking cookies. :) This event in the Lake District would be a great way to spend a Christmas holiday! Have a joyful and magical Christmas. It appears we will have a warm, and possible wet, one. :)

Hello Christina. I've not been there either. LOL The painting, and many of the artist's other works are of the Lake District. They are enthralling. I'd love to visit, and I'd love to visit while the Santa Splash racing event is taking place. Sounds Like fun. May all the joys and magic of Christmas be yours! hugs and blessings :)

Thank you dear bff! The artist uses acrylics, I believe. She is an inspiring woman, as well as an accomplished artist. I've used two of her other paintings for my poems: "I Shall Not Fall" and "Puddles". I enjoy her work. It would be fun to see the races...[sigh]...another time. A great Christmas holiday to you as well Anaya! :)
