Departed Alas, Pamela-Fv
My cherished friend and almost, sister!
I took you under my gentle wings that
you might overcome addiction, and so
you did.
You, so conservative in dress. Me, so
flamboyant, in a state of colorful and
flashy, undress!
How kindly you transformed me from
my addiction, artificial wildness!
We, so different at first in looks but
hardly in souls.
Each contributed to each others's
transformation.
Walking miles that final New Year's Eve
through a dastardly Chicago blizzard.
Oh, my dead Pamela, once full of light and
laughter.
I will be searching for you in the silver
threads of the hereafter.
