how lucky is a human in their cause to happen on occasion such as this? a palette sky to give their heart a pause as blushing, it receives an ocean kiss the late-day sun, a lemon drop of bright to melt upon the pink tongue of the sea a great expanse of colors bleeding night as glinting stars above dance fancy-free o reach-to-reach the vista takes my breath as every shade conceived adorns the sky and just, it is, that day should find its death with beauty such that words can't justify … how perfect would it be to thus commend that every day may find such wondrous end? ~ 1st Place ~ in the "Choices" Poetry Contest, Sara Kendrick, Judge & Sponsor. ~ 2nd Place ~ in the "Dusk Or Dawn" Poetry Contest, Emile Pinet, Judge & Sponsor. ~ 4th Place ~ in the "Premiere Contest #165, Any Form Or None", Brian Strand, Judge & Sponsor.

That's so kind of you, John, and I so appreciate your wonderful comments ... I take pride in trying to create imagery in new ways, but in ways that still make SENSE, (cuz it doesn't go far if you lose people along the way), so your words mean a great deal. Blessings, My Poet Brother! :-)

I know I read this beauty Greg, but don't see my comment. This poem has stunning beauty and I want to congratulate you on your fine win! I am assuming the painting is by Turner? It is stunning too! : )

Yes, not all of it, but it was kind of like a documentary. Very interesting. I want to watch the rest of it. Was tere a movie too? That has happened to a few members I have commented on. I go to congratulate them and my previous comment is missing....very strange. I didnt get the fave you left me on my Dawn poem either. Andrea and Jan checked and said their fave was there. Oh well....electronics! Thanks, Connie : )

Thank you so much, Connie - I thought you had commented on this already as well, (some of my Soup Mails disappeared, too - strange), but I didn't remove it. That is actually a photo, but I chose it because it reminded me of JMWT - I should have known you'd pick up on that! Did you see the movie about him? REALLY good! Blessings, Dear Friend! :-) <3

Thank you so much, Dale - I apologize for the italics ... I've gotten into a habit, for some reason, and have trouble breaking it. I NEVER used to use italics ... perhaps that's why - a change of pace(?) ... I'll get there, lol. I value your opinion, so I'm trying to break it! ;-)

This is just lovely Greg. I didn't know you could put a poem in one contest and submit it to another. Please soup mail me about that rule. I thought you could only put one poem in one contest at a time. Anyway, it is still well penned. Congratulations

Such amazing imagery presented in your beautiful Sonnet, Greg. A gorgeous sunset at dusk in all of nature's glory presents itself as a gift we sometimes take for granted. "That every day should find...such wondrous end?" I love this...I haven't posted it yet, but I chose 'dusk' for Emile's contest with some similarities to the feelings you express! Best wishes for both contests! Sandra <3
