Hi Carolyn, and best wishes I am drawing thoughts as I read these few, yet potent Lines, I am feeling quite subdued and thinking A bit the same at the moment, I will have to Get some writes up again, as there is much I Have to explore and share; I feel, I must try And get a grip, which is oxymoronic as there Is nothing that is truly lasting in this world.' Oh well I send my best wishes, Joe.'

Congratulations on your win! So sad when children suffer from the actions of their parents. Many children in foster care tonight crying for mommy and/or daddy who broke the law.

Common sense prevails, Carolyn, but only because of protests like this you write..it is truly a wonderful poem, oh and by the way, i'm still reeling from your march of the puppeteers, probably the best poem ever i have read..

Excellent Carolyn. No wonder it's a winner. So filled with emotion. Great job. God Bless, JB PS I'm finally back now. My operations on my eyes are done and it's a bright new world. So far no more headaches.

Which contest did this win in? It's a powerful little poem, Carolyn. I am reading comments below. That is one thing I like about Melania, her compassion for these poor children.

It broke my heart to hear that on the news. It is akin to putting them in jail and punishing them for the deeds of their parents. It is very unfair especially for the little ones who just don't understand what's going on. Excellent Carolyn! : )

When scenes from these internment camps are being repeated over and over, it is hard to take more than a few minutes of news...

Even Melania Trump has spoken out against this and she rarely makes her feelings on public policy known. I can't bear to watch the nightly news reports.

Our humanity is at stake. Sadly this has gone on for years. You say so much in such few words!!

Why aren't people picking up on the similarities to Auschwitz or the Japanese Internment Camps during WWII? Though it has gone on for years, this practice is becoming commonplace now. So nice to see you back here, Dave!

The images on the news are difficult to watch. I keep hoping the protests of first-ladies will touch the hearts of our leaders.
