Dark or Decayed Words Poetry Contest, Sponsor - Constance La France. Date written: 09/07/2023

one-time betrayal of trust taints pristine relationship. there's nothing worth salvaging; not much to cling to. they gave it a fighting chance sadly, it was all for naught. too strong, the stench of decay; their love couldn't last.

Brief, crisp and so powerful. Love must have died long back. So it can have only the stench of decay. Enjoyed this short poem much. Congratulations Edward on your first place win.

This is so soul hitting, i agree sometimes the damage is too deep and strong, when trust is shattered and love is bruised from mistakes irreversible, theres no antidote to cure the pain nor stop the bleeding. What a poignant powerful write this is! Loved your take. Goodluck for the contest
