Dear Namu
Dear Namu,
Permit me to speak a few words even when I do not understand.
I do not know how to express
The sorrow within my heart
I sense in you the fire of life
Burning unencumbered.
See, my friend, yourself dancing again,
Like phoenix in cold embers.
Yours is a story of daring
To live differently, push the cloud of limiting horizons
A step beyond, one moment each time.
Yours is a life, denying the odds,
That scream voices of endless cynicism.
Before you know it, you shall once again,
Show the world the jig that’s only yours.
Bring forth the sway in you,
That only you came to share with the universe.
You will laugh again, knowing in your heart,
That life is a chance to tell your Big Story.
That we can endure knocks and bangs,
As we roll on this roller-coaster.
That we shall not reach our destinations neat and clean,
But screaming and shouting “How great the trek.”
That you gave it your best shot, the only chance you had.
Your arrival at your end shall be with ululations and pomp.
You who would have shaken with horror,
Arriving with victors’ arms swinging in the air.
You shall rise again, and run and never tire.
You and I, we know the pain and the struggle,
And the joy of sweet little victories.
