Dear Friend

Dear friend, My brain stumbles over white shards of glass that surround bare flesh. The room is dark until I peered into the fiery passion that is in your eyes. It lit up the room with bright luminescent sparks that lit up my world like fireworks in the night sky. I took a step towards you, and it ached. The second burned. I reached my hand out towards you, and you greeted it with a searing touch and a kind smile. I stepped back into your world. Lakes of fire spiraling around my feet. "One wrong move." "One wrong word." Behind the beauty was a snake that grew from your chest. Your venom coursed through me. Constricting me. Suffocating me. My fear grew. My words could never quite reach you. You always stayed huddled behind the sea of flames. Still I took another unbearable step toward you. And I took a closer look And to my surprise Beyond the flames I saw that it was your heart shattered in shards across the floor. I wept Feeling your pain crash into my chest like a harsh wave of destruction. "I'm sorry..." I called out to you. But you didn't hear me. You did not see me. Thick blackened oil poured from your mouth and around your feet, igniting the roaring fires around you. I had to step away. I had to get away. The moment I turned to leave, I felt a sharp pain. I looked back to see you dug a blade into my back, as you whispered to me... "Coward..." "I knew you would leave" "Everyone always leaves" "When things get too rough... " I cried out "Because you are hurting the people who reach out to you. The closer we get the more it burns" But... My words never reached you.
