For  the 'Strayed Sheep' Poetry Contest of Dilly Dally

Dear flock of mine, how far you’ve strayed from me. I find you here above this tranquil shore where sunlight glitters down upon the sea. How unconcerned you seem, and even more - nearby a precipice some of you stand! How sad would be your fate if you should fall. Mere creatures though, you cannot understand how very close to death you are at all and there could be no blame I’d place on you. Asleep was I, with no clue you had left. I searched, not knowing more that I could do. I’ve found you now. No more am I bereft! On God’s sweet summer grass you graze. I weep for joy to know I’ll lead you home, dear sheep.

We are the sheep of His pasture Andrea.' If we Remain in Him? ( He will remain in us ) for He Cannot disown Himself.' I would like to imagine Myself a like a Rocky Mountain ram type sheep I don't know if I always live up to that niche though.? Mind you my thinking gets a bit craggy At times.' Not that I'm a pushover either.' Or a Pull-over either lol))) I hope you are on the very edge? Reading my comment if you are as I go Past in the pass you can hop on my back Till your destination comes up'

Andrea, as you point out, a lot can happen while we're asleep. Great job on this one. It's different from the other entries I've seen that relate to the photo. Be well....and stay awake! smiles!

This is so beautifully written from the perspective of good shepherd. He chastises himself for his lack of caution. He didn't know his sheep had left the pen and wandered. He is there to lead them back home. Beautiful rhyming and great execution of thought. All the best, Andrea.

Queen of sonnets you are sweet andrea, this is so beautiful how youv written this poem with such seamless rhymes and flow of lines with such descriptive lines too, youv really looked deep into the edges and curves of the artwork, and youv felt it deep and it is evident through this sonnet too, i especially love the lines “ I find you here above this tranquil shore where sunlight glitters down upon the sea.” just love that!! You are a natural! Best wishes for the contest, i need to do this, maybe soon

Ohh this is such a deep and meaningful poem dear Andrea, full of soul and emotions... cradling my heart in a rollercoaster ~ whilst caressing gently by the ending lines... How beautiful it is when we can sparkle some light of assurance and guidance in someone's life when they are in their darkest. I love how impeccably you've crafted this poem and here sheep can be used as a great symbolism. Adored reading this. Sending you light and best wishes for the contest, this is wonderful!!
