Deadbeat Online Friends

{Dedicated to those who write you Boring emails filled with excuses) ~~Their Soliloquy~~ Oh, I have so much to do today. Read the paper, look for bargains, Part my hair! But to call or email a relative or friend? Can't do that. Well ~yes I can! But I use only three words at most. I gotta have my jam and toast Oh, life is so dang hard! Sitting in the friendship House of Cards. I only write all about food, weather or my yard. Why do people want so much of me? I am too busy,thinking of only of me. I let your emails go unanswered for weeks. Eating toast, takes hours you see? But I do write longer if I am ill, Then I want your prayers you bet. Outside of myself,,,it's others I want to forget. (cough, cough, sneeze, sneeze, wheez, wheez) I live thinking of what I never got. I won't even try, I may lose my Netflix time or miss a movie?.. Yup,no time for you I am way too groovy! Yes, it seems some people only reach out when they are in need or want something. And some people reach out just for attention. What a world it (might) be if everyone put that time into the care of others and the sharing of love and kindness. Everyone's so apt to throw a dollar into The Salvation Army bucket at Christmas, yet we squander time and affection like it's gold leaf on the edges of our days ... a limitless resource, so why are so many praying for it? Why do we walk by the homeless like they need far more than we can give, when all they really want is love? Wonderful write, about an insidious problem. Blessings!

Hello Gregory, you could write a poem about how we squander affection like a gold leaf on the edges of our days...that's some moving rhetoric!! Every human chooses their own destiny. It costs nothing to say hello to one down on luck. In my city, GEE a growing problem of drug dealers on bikes. Right on about a the Salvation Army. Blessings. PR
