Notes About The Poem

For Nette Onclaud's 'SPEAKING OF SEDOKA' Contest/ May 29, 2026

Dead End

Sun paints the twilight in vibrant violet swirls as I go over the bend. Instead of sadness, my soul sings to find I’ve stopped at my life journey’s dead end

Dear Andrea, it's so good to be able to read your artistic words once again! have missed them during my time away from here! Such a beautiful sedoka this is, that offers a truly profound perspective on life and death.. makes me spellbound and leaves me speechless all at once, there's a thin line between eternal and fleeting essence and I could see all those shades layered beneath these lines that you've so wisely crafted. "My soul sings to find I've stopped" that's something serene & moving.. absolutely love the soul touching depth here! Always so heartfelt! Sending you many best wishes and light, pleasure reading your work.

The same for all of us -- a beer and 50's music gets me by. What the heck. A deep and thought stirring write.

Your use of metaphor and imagery works in tandem to generate a striking picture, Andrea. Best wishes for the contest.
