De Ja Vous
business not pleasure
haven't we killed this way before
hearts on the line
spade in hand
lived vicariously through the tarot
Dreaming awake the cycles of balloons and clowns
don't forget these steps like i will
you will never live it down
fate stacked as the sky falls down
no getwell card from the gods
just choke reality down
of lady lucky running out
the irony of no doubt
sipping the tea of fate's ill destiny's
what else could father time promise
no ill will due unto you unto me
to forget these steps like i will
of the business before the pleasure
euphemisms of the buried treasure
all under rug swept together
featless surrenders of heartfelt forevers
pendulum swings timing the cartomancer
today is a card game
tomorrow a gift from heavens
the days mixed up in a fairytale of steps of incomplete rapture
never forget these steps like i will
surrounded by omens and gifts
undone curses
holding closed the eyelids from seeing tomorrow
surprises of balloons and clowns
dancing on a pin like angels
wondering have you practiced this in heaven
never forget this steps like i have
never forget
deja vous
an absent minded reminder
