(To be sung to the tune of Journey's "Open Arms") [Here are the original lyrics by Journey] Open Arms Lying beside you, here in the dark Feeling your heartbeat with mine Softly you whisper, you're so sincere How could our love be so blind? We sailed on together We drifted apart And here you are by my side So now I come to you with open arms Nothing to hide, believe what I say So here I am, with open arms Hoping you'll see what your love means to me Open arms Living without you, living alone This empty house seems so cold Wanting to hold you Wanting you near How much I wanted you home But now that you've come back Turned night into day I need you to stay So now I come to you with open arms Nothing to hide, believe what I say So here I am, with open arms Hoping you'll see what your love means to me Open arms [My new lyrics are below] Dawn of Love Soft as a sunset, warm as the sand Reaching my soul with your eyes Gently you touch me, holding my hand Pure as the blue August skies A full moon in summer A mist from the sea A whisper from you to me Is this the moment of the dawn of love? Can I believe you're more than a dream? I need to know is this for show What's this I feel - is it false, is it real, Is it love? Coming from nowhere, like the first star Shining through night's bitter cold Eyes like blue diamonds Bright as the moon Cut to the core of my soul They look for an answer, The answer is this: Love, sealed with a kiss Is this the moment of the dawn of love? Can I believe you're more than a dream? I need to know is this for show What's this I feel - is it false, is it real, Is it love? Written 17 October 2021

Dear John, How beautiful your version of the song is! So dreamy, so intimate, so lyrical! The images are stunning - "Pure as the blue August skies A full moon in summer A mist from the sea"! How lovely would it be to sing this song! This is going to my faves. Blessings and Best wishes ~ Mala

Thank you Mala, for the generous comment and fave. The first time I heard this song, I was in college and in love. I heard it on my car radio as I was driving towards the beach and saw this beautiful sunset unfolding over the west coast of California. Every time I hear the song playing I have that sensation of beauty and young love wash over me. Blessings to you ~ John

John, I have always loved this song by "Journey". To create lyrics using this melody, leaves me in complete awe. I am curling these thoughts so delicately around me... "Soft as a sunset, warm as the sand, gently you touch me, holding my hand" Oh my ! So soft and romantic, beautiful and dreamy. Once again you have created a masterpiece, my dear sweet friend. :) Hugs, Brandy

What's this I feel - is it false, is it real, is it love' .........'Can I believe you're more than a dream' John my good friend, if this is real and not fiction and if it is what you truly desire, I hope with all my heart that the questions in your mind, confusing you at present, are in reality answered positively, for I sense the deep feelings you had and have for this person, but she mustn't break your heart again! Love and blessings, Jennifer.

Dear Jenn, thank you for your warm reading of my words and for embracing the spirit and intent of what I'm going for. I do enjoy tapping into the feelings I experienced long ago to help me tear down some of the writer's block I have been going through this year. Thank you for your uplifting words and friendship. Blessings and hugs ~ John

My dear friend, John, your rare talent shines with a luster that is rich and deep and real. I'm swooning in the 'dawn of love'. Your lyric is absolutely exquisite, can be sung to Open Arms perfectly (although you wouldn't want to hear my rendition.. haha!) and had my heart overflowing like a 'full moon in summer' and melting like a 'mist from the sea'. Romantic beauty flows like golden nectar from your lush and luscious pen! Best wishes for a win and warmest wishes for you, dear poet.. ~Susan

My dear PS-PS, your comments are always such an avalanche of affirmation, a whirlwind of warmth, a tsunami of sincere support (or is it tsincere tsupport?) Though my visits and comments have been extremely rare this year, I hope that will change, as I so admire your creations and embracing presence. Warm wishes always ~ John
