Dark Shadows

I walk through the scent of pine There is no sign Green fern are blowing in the wind Years, I can’t rescind The heat is like a thick wall I try not to fall I reach for the cool shade under trees In a cascade of memories I touch the bark, looking at detail to see The moment frees me In dark shadows, I pretend Time is my friend Heidi Sands 6/28/21

Sometimes when we are alone we feel very alone. There is a feeling of oneness with nature. There is a clean and pure peace that surrounds you. It's where I belong. Good Stuff. God Bless, JB

Heidi, This poem reminded of Barnabas Collins. He was meant as a timeless character. -Richard

You have me identifying with the struggle to find the beauty, no matter the obstacles of heat and age. Triumphant, Heidi! :) gw

So lovely in its pensive melancholy Heidi. Wonderful images of sight, touch and the smell of pine on a summer night. You took me there!
