Dark Night of the Soul
It seems there was a life in ROTATION
It had nothing to do with VOCATION,
Nor anything related to LOCATION
There were anxieties and FRUSTRATIONS
A longing for a new and challenging START,
Rose like leaven from deep within the HEART
For months, there was little desire to be RIGHT
Pulled toward the dark and dimmed LIGHTS, the soul,
WAS wrongly driven on many a dark NIGHT.
And then came one like a lion to the rescue with a mighty ROAR,
Pulling the troubled soul from the jaws of one like a strong BEAR.
And all that one could do was stand with eyes wide opened and
STARE at the rescued one, who like an eagle, began to fly and SOAR.
But for God's Grace, many would be our dark nights of the soul.
But for God's Grace, there could be no rescue from such dark nights.
