Complete
Lord, I have traveled the Earth
and found faith shackled to fear.
So few people still believe,
and fewer yet shed a tear.
I'm merely a mortal man,
yet I'm baffled by Your will.
Why must the innocent die,
or the righteous have to kill?
You've gifted Man all there is;
from life to the stars above.
And imbued Your selfless gifts
with unconditional love.
Religions sell promises,
touting their beliefs as true.
And steeped in intolerance,
each one claims they speak for You.
I'm old, and soon I'll pass on;
that is the way we will meet.
And in Your loving embrace,
life's cycle will be complete.
