CUSPATE LULLABY
O serenade of crescent mOOn -
a cuspate lullaby.
lOvely lyrics, lulling,
gently rOcking and rOlling,
dOwn dreamy dales,
up seesaw hills,
under peekabOO stardust,
and milky beams Of
mystical mOOnshine -
with la de da and
fiddle-de-de,
humming from sOft lips
that brush a newbOrn’s cheek.
a yOung mother, happily surrendering
to sandman lids.
the siren’s call,
midway through the night,
relaxing at the rise and fall,
Of infant’s chest, brimming with
baby’s breath.
the crescent mOOn, smiles,
miles and miles away.
