Curious Cat
As the the lights glistened on my Christmas tree
My curious cat came near
He seemed content to sit and stare
Or at least so it did appear
But when his curiosity got the better of him
He took a swipe at an ornament
His paw got entangled in the wires
As he snarled to show discontent
But the more he tried to free himself
The more entangled he got
I tried to calm the feline down
But soon I was also in a knot
It wasn't long before we tumbled down
Christmas tree and all
I managed to get up after the fall
Only to see my cat running down the hall
Now when I decorate the Christmas tree
My cat stays far away
I guess I'll have no more catastrophes
Unless Santa Claus gets stuck in the chimney!
