Cupid's Arrows
Blush me shy when in her presence
Distraught sore with apprehension;
Reassure me with melody
Soothing teenage anxiety.
Planned our meeting, rehearsed my part
I fear Cupid’s drawing the worst,
Of the shot arrow’s blunt, lead tip
Dissolving our relationship.
Madly in love, I pray it smart
From the quiver withdrawn the dart,
With gold point and extremely sharp
Hitting the mark that is her heart.
Boldly, I take her in my arms
Debonair dashing and kiss her,
And whisper marriage proposal
Then await for her betrothal.
