Culpable

Written for Ink Empress' 'Unwritten Absence' Poetry Contest.

C(ulpa)ble

Your unwritten absence unravelled much
Disrobing piteously your impure intent
Starkly exposing a ravaged soul as such

Cocooned in dark yarns of deceit, I lay spent
In golden gilded cage tarnishing from neglect
Plated with cosmetic veneer for society's consent

Yet, you were oblivious to the storm brewing, most perfect
Bidding the right time to sound its thunderous dissent
NEGLECT, tacitly accepted afore, HENCEFORTH NEVER GOES UNCHECKED!

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Have a blessed New Year.

Island sunshine! I loved this poem; i can feel so much reading those lines so well articulated: i can tell this comes from a deep place of your heart: the way you’ve rhymed and made this flow too left me speechless! How creative you are! And touching are the lines “ cocooned in dark yarns of deceit” “ golden gilded cage” that hits home! Love the depth of this poem: felt it: thank u for writing! congratulations on winning!

A powerful poem of rebuke and strength, Subhadra. Your first verse was engaging and very poetic. It set the tone for the poem and for the closing verse well. Nice entry for the contest ... good luck! Welcome to Poetry Soup. Thank you for following my poetry, I'm following yours as well. A poet friend (to be) in Texas, Bill
