I am broken-
my soul fragmented,
my muse flattened and crushed;
these wings beaten and fractured,
I am suspended in time with no future . . .
waiting, waiting, waiting for some hope.
Is this the end? Oh sorrow! Oh sadness!
The poet in me is humbled and lost, weeping,
but slowly, slowly bits and pieces are meeting in my mind;
inside of me a strength is burning,
and I pick up a pen hesitating . . .
and start writing faltering, halting, I write,
and my wings unfurl-
