Crossroads

I was at a crossroads in my life when I met you. My heart was in turmoil and indecision infiltrated every fiber of my being. Should I stay or should I move over two thousand miles away? I was off balance with two small children to consider who counted on me being the stable mom they knew. I cried for them not me, I cried because I had no answers. Your strength without promise got me through. I had never met a man like you. A man whose kindness knew no bounds, a man who listened without judgment. A man who had the same kind of baggage I dragged behind, who understood the pain of divorce with children at stake. You made me feel safe as I mourned my loss, you were my rock. Neither of us was looking for love, yet we were drawn together by invisible forces we later accepted as destiny. Your handsome face caught my eye, I won’t deny, but your soul-light shined so bright I couldn’t help but love you. I then knew the right way to go at those crossroads, I took the path that led straight to you. 9-20-19 ~Second Place~ Crossroads Poetry Contest Sponsored by Silent One

connie, I don't know how i ever missed this one, but I am seeing it now a winner in the contest. Congratulations. I really enjoyed this and it is making me wonder something. This has to be about your hubbie, but I do not recall that you were on the mainland . So did you have to move to Hawaii?? I thought you grew up there. Sorry if I am missing something. I should remember all about you, but my mind is like a dang sieve!

I did not move to Hawaii until I was thirty four Andrea. I lived in Kansas until three and a half and then in California and briefly in Seattle for two and a half years. I have lived here the past 40 years. Thanks my friend. : ) xxoo

What a wonderful path you chose my dear friend, one to happiness and to a man with strength and character - Your crossroad I am sure many come to, but not all of them choose the one that shines the brightest. Good luck in the contest. Hugs and blessings, Jenny.

He was divinely sent to me Jennifer. My best friend begged me to trade trips with her and from that favor I was to meet my future. I know it was divine destiny and the answer to my prayers. Thank you very much Jennifer. (I love that name I gave to my daughter). xxoo
