In snow-swept realms
of yearly melting
soft tips of grass rise
peeking through frost-covered earth
where temperatures rise and fall
inconstant changes
before the celestial heavens
slowly move across the equator
to bring a gift of tender caress
from the rays of the sun
like the warm hands of a lover
in shadowed light
where the breath of a solstice
blows across the Northern Hemisphere
that danced naked in the cold meadows
of grass and trees
as they waited for the dark clouds of thunder
to roll beneath a round sky of stars and sun
before they cry and wet the earth in tears
to reveal the emerald and olive color of nature
as life is woven into a tapestry
that hangs on the edge of life
dressed in a vibrant-colored gown
as it waits for the fragrant scent of flowers
