Crescendo and Cadence

The audience fell into a hush,
The violist stood still near her maestro.
She poised her bow as she had placed
Her violin beneath her chin was on her shoulder.
In the silence of all, she moved her bow,
Slowly at first, then with rapid strokes
The music flowed, up and down, and strong.
The audience was mesmerized by the sound.
The music grew to a great crescendo
Until she changed her tune into a cadence,
Soft, alluring, enticing and pleasant,
Only to gain speed and follow through
Into a delectable bridge mid-song.
And once again, a high crescendo
Occasionally plucking the strings
And back to melodious but strong,
Up towards a high pitch,
Till suddenly the music once again
Fell into soft notes into a pleasant cadence
That spelt the end of her concerto.
The audience stood up clapping heartily.
