Creating a Poem With Pen On Paper

Here i sit on the loveseat Which is my writing place Slash and the computer I sit in stillness and ponder Which seems like long hours Wondering what poetry form I will create next yet No idea comes to mind So I sleep on it all night The Ghost writer speaks She gives me a title On paper i write By my night table Then I sleep again Pondering my thoughts So with the pen and paper The pen wrote these words A poem created Ready for submit On the coumputer

Hi, Darlene! I love it, great penning, Ms. Darlene. Sometimes it takes me months to write a poem and I have poems I've written unfinished in a notebook on my phone in there. Of course, my phone is with me if I go out somewhere, and sometimes I'll be in the art store, and something comes to mind all of a sudden, so I stop in the middle of the aisle and write it down and I'll get strange looks, but I'm compelled to look at them and say, I'm a writer and a new poem come to thought. So, if I don't write it down, I forget. Haha, gave a Great Day, ladies. Best of Wishes, William

Hello William Darnell Sr., I always carry a small note book with me. i do not have an I phone. When an idea comes I write it down no matter where i am. From that idea I create a poem. Or get ideas foe the computer. Like you if I do not write it down i forget. Sometimes I wake up with an idea. Best woshes William. --Darlene

Sometimes those words come to us at the oddest hours don't they?! I should sleep with my pen and paper at my side. There have been times I woke with songs in my mind, and was too sleepy to go find something to write them down with, and they were lost. I love this, many of us can relate!

Important for would be poets to read this. It highlights fact we can try too hard and inspiration can not be forced. Sometimes I start off to write a poem on one subject and end up with one on a completely different subject. Poetry is as varied and unique as the people who write it. PS our grandson turned on the 2nd. Have a great week. David in NZ

Hello David Smith, that is right inspiration can not be forced. I look at the tittles i have written and sometimes can not get a poem from it. So I wait for the muse to tell me the poem. Then I create my poem. I hope your grandson had a very nice birthday party. Cheers. Darlene

Darlene, you've written an excellent poem. For me, I write in the quietest times of the night, lie down, and wake with alternate concepts that elevate my work to a higher level. I feel that this is a systematic method of finding motivation with me.

I believe this is a common way to find inspiration. I write, fall asleep, and awaken in he darkest hours of the night; with alternate thoughts that take my poem to a different level. Certainly there is a spiritual side to our writing, and it comes in the stillness when our senses are not disturbed by the realities that crowd our day. Very poignant piece! :)Paulette

Lovely, spiritual way of writing. Most of my writing is done lying in bed. I use pencil for ink stops flowing upside down. Often I will sleep awhile then wake up. My best hours for writing seem to begin around 2 in the morning. I love the quiet of the night, feeling closer to my mystic source. Joe.

Hello Joe DiMino, Thank you Joe. I do not write in bed. Only jot down the title. Then write the poem the next day.I write the tittle on paper then go back to sleep. I never know when this happens. All I know it is early morning. It could be 2A.M. I am not certain. yes this would make you feel closer to your mystic self. Darlene.

I think writing on paper is one of the best methods for bringing out your silent muse, Darlene. We have all done this, its much more profound and the worse that come out of us, are meaningful and authentic, no computer over does, lol, I love it. :)

Hello, Deb, pleasure to meet you, and Ms. Darlene, one of my biggest commenters. Forgive my intrusion here, but I love Neil Young and Harvest Moon, released, in 1992, is an excellent song and one of my favorite songs Neils wrote, along with Old Man, released in 1972. I'm also an artist and drew his picture from a nightclub, Mountain House, that he and the band were in, and his wife was there and shows them dancing, and it was just serene and blissful. But from a clip, I saved from the video. I will try to upload it in a bit. There, all three of us have two things in common, "being a muse and Neil Young.” I find that to be awesomely refreshing, ladies! Take care writers, and have a Great Blessed Day! Best of Wishes, William
