Notes About The Poem

CRAFTING ANNE

In the wake, in the rubble,
I search for who I am.

                                 After pain’s trouble,
                            how well can I stand?

                      I’ve long sat in debris
                  with no clue for company.

               Please, hope, talk to me
so faith might walk with me.

I need out of my head,
      away from all not said.

      Tired of my feelings,
    I search for their ceiling,
  but I only bleed ~
nothing ceases my bleed.

In the wake, in the rubble,
I search for a new face.
    After so much waste
how should I craft her ???

      There’s need to shape
          my chipped remains
              into designs aligned
                  to best serve my
                       remaining lifetime.

Shall I mold pain into wisdom,
                                       focus my eyes truth aware
                                                          or
                                    keep this scorched heart form
                                       with eyes colored forlorn?

CayCay, belated congratulations on your POTD. Your use of a demolished building as a metaphor for a broken soul and questions of how to rebuild is rich in stark images. Have to ask, is Anne your first name? The name Anne means gracious. I love the eighth stanza. Sending you blessings!

Dear Cay Cay, from the rubbles, we can pick up the rocks and bricks and all other raw materials needed to set up a beautiful building. Then you will one day marvel over your own creation . If you had thought, everything was lost with the tremor, you wouldn't have grown this much. So keep molding pain into wisdom. Great poem. Belated Congratulations on your POTD.

It is within all that rubble we can take what can make us be better then those who sit without seeing the beauty one can make with what we are presented with! Loven your work CayCay! Dearsest, CayCay, you have taken the emotions and moments of her heart and placed them upon the page with elegance and grace. Depth and meaning echo within. I think it's best to have eyes focused on the truth and mold pain into wisdom. Congratulations my sweet friend, on Poem of the Day. Hugs, Brandy

option one is the better choice...use the pain to whittle away the angst of a lingering past and refocus those eyes. Nicely done CayCay.

Dear CayCay, Congrats on POTD! There’s something in the way you lay out the mess and the rebuilding that feels uncomfortably familiar. I don’t have answers, but I felt every bit of the wrestling you put on the page. I think you gave shape to a process most of us pretend we’re not still stumbling through. An excellent POTD! Autumn Blessings, Dear CayCay, Daniel
