I'm in bondage, is this a dream I'm governed by extremes Let's leave this land of tyranny Oh, let us run away Escape on to a new land of liberty "people who survive war and escape tyranny" Despotism, absolute power, autocracy, Dictatorship, totalitarianism, Fascism more Let run free cross ocean come to a new world order A nation under cruel and oppressive government cruel, unreasonable, or arbitrary use of power or control I must leave this place and save myself Where to go...America??? So my country tis of thee my new land give me, liberty Freer now than I've ever be This America here are Some of the things, the theme we now see A new life another chance Immigration to internal migration Colonialism, mercantilism, global hegemony Systems of slave labor almost 200 years now free Terrorism of empires in the new Mesoamerica diminish be Now free Not ungrateful freed from terrany A chance to choice, my choice a vote Freedom to disagree So my country tis of thee my new land give me liberty Freer now than I've ever be This America here are Some of the things, the theme we now see A new life another chance New life, new land I am yet so thankful Of this land of the free, home of the brave Baseball and Apple Pie Captain America, Martha Stewart Freedom liberty Women rights, nothing to it Progressive reform, Black American urban migration civil rights freedom Freed Political economic expansion So my country tis of thee my new land give me liberty Freer now than I've ever be This America here are Some of the things, the theme we now see New Era, Great Depression and A New Deal All was real, how do I (we) feel Freed Diplomacy, civil liberties civil rights Consensus and conformity Some of my forefathers came from other lands died for me Now I'm free For what it's worth America the only and greatest Melting pot on this earth So my country tis of thee my new land give me liberty Freer now than I've ever be This America here are Some of the things, the theme we now see For the greatest theme of America is... a person who comes to live permanently in this their new home foreign country Newcomer, settler, migrant, emigrant Gather together to live and love in freedom For another greatest theme of America is...
