Cotton Candy and Other Things

Cotton candy and other things make me happy Like a tiny kitten playing with a ball of string A small child discovering something for the first time The end of a story bringing tears to my eyes Things now remembered that once brought sighs The satisfaction of finding the perfect rhyme Looking for a gift, finding just the right thing Trying to be sentimental without being sappy

This very simple rhyme was a delight to read, Milton. The dynamic graphic exhibits cotton candy in the making.

Thank you, Jo. Too sugary for me, but I love to look at it and watch it being spun.

When I was a kid cotton candy was available only at fairs, circuses, etc. It was only decades later that I learned how it was made. In your poem I singled out how finding the perfect rhyme was very satisfying for me, and still is. Thank for stopping by. / Maurice
