Cord

A bush lark in the Greenwood forest sings. She sings all day long near the mountain springs. Is she trilling in notes so plaintive of her missing mate? Unleashing her heart of its doleful weight? Or easing the pangs of a heart that starves For a soul mate yet to come for whom she craves? Or sending a missive through the aerial route Sounding in every ear a low melancholy note? From the covert of dark leaves, her song percolates. Through the sinews of my heart it permeates, Striking a cord between two souls equally deprived, Stirring in me an inarticulate ache, never once divulged. Valsa, your images are always fresh - "song percolates," "two souls equally deprived." I love your uniquely creative word choice and use to carry your theme! This is as plaintive as the song of the bush lark. Congratulations! Beautifully written. Blessings dear friend!

The bush lark sings to ease those sad emotions which could lay heavy on her heart...and you, Valsa, find yourself sharing with her those same feelings. ~ Best regards // paul

A blessing to read of the oneness you experience with nature. So many of life's experiences come to many different forms in nature. Thanks for sharing, Bill

Hi Valsa one cannot write so breathtaking poems without having a very kind heart, and a soul to match it. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Valsa, you've written beautiful poetry. A note of happiness might indeed elicit a concealed anguish. But, at the very least, she is singing, which is difficult to do during a heatwave!

Beautiful connection with bird language in this Nature poem, I loved since reading William Wordsworth.

At least she is singing, which is quite a challenge during an heatwave! Stay cool, Valsa! Aloha!

The song of lark so upbeat--but not so much the ending thought. A note of joy can sometimes invoke hidden ache.
