Contemplating Paradise
While reading the Holy Book
Charlotte’s mind floated out to sea
Dreaming of the refreshing life
The grand prize for those who believe
How could paradise be so beautiful , she thought
How could the details be so extraordinary
With gates etched in pearl
And stained glass windows made with the tears of the saints
She sat and daydreamed of the family members
Who have already traveled there
And what they must be doing this day
Are they boating across a crystal blue river
Or are they dancing with doves in midair
Paradise seems so surreal as she reads it in the Holy Book
And then an angel came down from above
And kissed her on her rose-colored cheeks
“All you have to do is surrender your life to the King of Glory
and all these things shall be given unto thee”
