Confounded - S,Jagathsimhan Nair

CONFOUNDED ( COLLABORATION )

by~ S.Jagathsimhan Nair

When tension grips and the head reels
In its ever accelerated twirl
When two rays dangle from two flayed poles,
And the dumb loss of a moment’s truth
Looks so conspicuous and an eminently
Forgettable lapse of an inoffensive world
When the gentle genre to which the slamming
Of an ever open door in the face of
The rare perspicacity and purpose shown
By a soul, a land and a generation belongs
Looks so commonplace; when the benign
Visitor’s countenance does indeed despair
And crave a black visor above the originality
Of its expansiveness and the staggering degradation
Of its vitality; I have this great ache’s abundance
Stirring in my cupped palms, held out in supplication,
Till it rests, for an ever lasting understanding
Ever in the vision, ever into its aftermath.

by~ p.d.

The "aftermath" of any loss seems to consist in any form.
An aster plea subsiding every look.
Behind glory behind redemption~
Giving rest to the velocity speeding force
Creations of fantasy and religion and imagination
I paint the skies with my fingertips, to feel the mass
The world trembles at the knowledge of relativity.
"I sit in displeasure, injecting every generation into my veins!"
New born babies, born into this puzzled abyss.
Bewildered minds accepting stupendous addictions.
A poison to taste every sunrise,
Forbidden tongues baffle the night
Mental representation, stirring up conflict
Foiled toes to hold and worship.
Steady vision behind these eyes so confounded.

Dear Poet, My son and I wrote a poem together, just for fun. He is a better poet than me, but as they say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. He teaches in the Humanities Dept. at Embry Riddle U. in Daytona. What can I say - I am proud. I am posting for you the Mom/Michael poem Love, Nola

Love the poison to taste every sunrise...collaboration with other poets sure does widen your writing experience. I don't know of anyone who does this more than you, PD. Do you have a cure for writer's block? A vitamin, a ritual?...Glad u enjoyed Angels Day Off..it was a fun write indeed. Have a great Tuesday! Gwendolen

Irma, yours really brought this piece full circle.. As for the "jay francis" it was just a name I used for Nikko's contest.. I wrote that piece from a guy's perspective so I figured why not use a male name as well ;) hope that clear up some of the confusion.. Hope you are asleep by now as the birds are chirping on this side of the world ;) tc Wilma

Enjoyed it really,p.d...done exceedingly well by giving it a vision and definiteness through those gifted, silken lines of yours. Unlike my own second part to it which leaves me still confounded .Now your part settles it and i am happy and thankful for the redemption it got at your hands or rather those' painting-the-sky-fingertips'

Irma, this was hard for me to interpret, but I think your response was great. I loved that line "I paint the skies with my fingertips" and also I dug the mention of the newborn babies born into this puzzled abyss. Yes, it is a very puzzling world indeed!

Loved this one you two, very nice. So many great lines, and well woven high level vocabulary make this an interesting read. Makes me wonder if those following in the aftermath will ever be able to look back and not be confounded, a deep concern indeed.
