Compass

First and Foremost Set your bearing's right If you choose to navigate at night And awake to the light North , West , East , South They multiply to Four It is Nature's unwritten Law Like the motion of a door Opening forth our Future While slamming Closed its Door Upon that which came Before

Hey, this sounds like it could be in that contest about favorite numbers or something, with the cool way you mentioned "four" I like this. LUv, Andrea

I'm sure you meant this in a "deeper" sense, Christopher, but you reminded me of the night a storm rose up suddenly when I was fishing 25 miles offshore. There were no stars to guide me back and the compass spun like I was caught in the Bermuda Triangle! I think it was prayer that guided me close enough to shore to see the beam from the lighthouse. I anchored out in 6 feet of water and awoke in three inches. Had to be rescued by airboat. Your poem brought back memories. Best Wishes, Carolyn
